A LITTLE ABOUT OUR HISTORY
Company established by John Anthony Kilby by reclaiming and recycling of corrugated
boxes and ammunition cases. This was at a time of severe raw material shortages.
From our traditional roots of cardboard boxes and tea chests, diversification into
self-adhesive tapes begins and starts to become a significant part of the business.
The company starts manufacturing rigid boxes with corrugated cardboard box
production starting soon afterwards.
Print & conversion machinery for self-adhesive tapes installed.
Office and warehouse opened at Northwich, Cheshire to fulfil the growing demand for
packing in the North West.
Quality and consistency continues to be very important with the Company being
awarded our BSI quality registration mark.
50th Anniversary of business & substantial increase in corrugated box production and
product range offered.
Kilby Packaging comes to life as the new trading name of John Kilby & Son Ltd.
Our first website goes live www.kilby.co.uk with the introduction of the e-commerce
website, offering products all over the UK, a few years later in 2008.
Expansion in tape printing and converting machinery. Introduction of plate making
and design. First digital printer installed enabling us to overprint a company’s
design on our stock boxes, paper mailing bags and envelopes.
Large format digital cutter added for sampling and prototyping
Acquisition of corrugated manufacturer in Northamptonshire to increase bespoke box
manufacturing capabilities and major investment in new box making equipment.
Celebrating our 75th Anniversary! Additional small format, fast production digital
printer added to cover growing bespoke print demand for e-commerce products. FSC
accreditation achieved making us one of the first Packaging Distributors to offer
FSC certified products.
